Wireless Tower/Field Technician

 

MapleNet Wireless is currently seeking a Wireless Field Technician Crew Leader to install and maintain fixed wireless microwave data networks and communications tower systems across the Midwest.

Job requirements include:

 
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong focus on customer service and team player.
  • Ability to quickly learn, utilize and train others on unfamiliar software and systems.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools.
  • Familiarity with concrete construction techniques and practices.
  • Ability to climb communication towers and extension ladders.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals.
  • Understanding of Windows 2000/2003/XP platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and work independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, wind, rain and snow.
  • Possess a basic understanding of electricity and grounding.

This position requires 75% travel across the Midwest.  Also the candidate must be available for a rotating night, weekend and holiday on-call schedule.  Additionally the candidate must be available in emergency situations via mobile phone or pager to restore site operations on a 7 days a week - 24 hours a day basis.
