In 2008, MapleNet completed a project using IP wireless soluions to connect 22 electrical subststations for South Central Indiana REMC.
As part of the project, MapleNet used Garrettcom multi-protocol terminal servers to aggregate the various legacy metering and control systems onto the
wireless Ethernet link.
In addition, MapleNet used Garrettcom 6K switches on main the microwave backbone.
MapleNet deployed a mix of 6Ghz, 11Ghz and 18Ghz Ceragon Fibeair solutions to provide ring connectivity back to SCI's head end.
The case study provides a brief outline of MapleNet's use of Garrettcom to help utilities expand their communcation capacity while still maintaining legacy systems.
