In 2008, MapleNet completed a high capacity backbone ring for South Central Indiana REMC ("SCI"). The ring provided backbone connecti
vity for substations and metering points in SCI's service area.
Ceragon's native TDM and IP architecture allows for the ring to transport multiple types of legacy data while also introducing a multi-Megabit Ethernet layer for new services.
MapleNet deployed a mix of 6Ghz, 11Ghz and 18Ghz Ceragon Fibeair solutions to provide ring connectivity back to SCI's head end.
The case study provides a brief outline of MapleNet's use of Ceragon for IP transport for "intelligent grid" initiatives for utilities.
